Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect during my first visit?

A consultation with your doctor, the procedure to be performed and scheduling of your follow-up visits.

How long does the procedure take?

The amount of time varies based on the number of and degree of involvement of the nails.  Typically the first visit for consultation and treatment takes between 20-40 minutes.

Is the procedure painful?

Most people feel no pain.  Some may experience slight warmth or an occasional snapping sensation during the procedure.

Is there a recovery period?
No.  All normal activities may be resumed immediately.

Will the fungus come back?

As with all medical procedures, a 100% guarantee is not possible.  Since the fungus is present everywhere in the environment, reinfection can occur.  Your doctor will recommend preventative strategies to reduce the chance of reinfection.

Can I polish my nails or have a pedicure?
You can have a pedicure and/or apply nail polish two weeks after the laser treatment.

Is this covered by my insurance?

No.  At the present time the procedure is considered cosmetic and not covered by health insurance.

How much does the laser treatment cost?

The cost varies depending on the number of nails involved.  Our fees range between $200 and $900.  A free consultation for the laser treatment is included.

What payment methods do you accept?
Credit cards, cash and money orders are all accepted.  You may also use your medical IRA, Health Savings or Flexible Spending account
